For many businesses, the weeks before Christmas decide the result of the whole year. The companies that do best are rarely the ones with the biggest budgets – they are the ones that started planning early.

Start in early autumn

Set your festive goals in September or October: how many orders, bookings or enquiries you want and by when. Work backwards from the last delivery or booking date, including time for production, photos and approvals.

Look at last year’s data

  • Which products, packages or dates sold best?
  • Which channels brought customers – search, Meta ads, email, recommendations?
  • When did demand start and when did it stop?

Prepare your website first

Create a dedicated festive page with gift ideas, vouchers or Christmas party packages, clear prices and deadlines. Check that the booking or checkout process works on mobile and that the site loads fast – traffic peaks are the worst time to discover problems.

Plan campaigns in stages

  • Inspiration: ideas, guides and behind-the-scenes content to build interest.
  • Offer: clear packages, early-bird prices and vouchers.
  • Last call: reminders about delivery and booking deadlines.

Don’t forget existing customers

Your customer list is your cheapest audience. A short email sequence with a thank-you, a festive offer and a final reminder often brings more sales than paid ads.

Automate what you can

An AI assistant on your website can answer questions about opening hours, delivery dates and availability late in the evening, when your team is off and customers are shopping.

Measure and write it down

After the season, note what worked and what didn’t. That note will be your starting point next year.
